A man threw acid on Katie when the discussion about acid attack was one of the most important issues in the world. Katie was a famous model and a Television presenter at that time. That man threw Sulphuric Acid on Katie in London due to which, her body was so severely burnt that she lost her vision and also her hands, and neck was burnt.
Situation started deteriorating which made it difficult for her to survive. She went in coma for 10 days. Initially she was admitted in the hospital of Westminster & Chelsie.
Doctors masked her face for continuous 18 months and for 23 hours a day. In meanwhile she was fed by a tube. Katie was raped before, by her ex-boyfriend who later attacked her by acid.
Inspite of all these mishappenings, Katie never gave up. Today she is running an organization, which helps women who are physically abused.
Also, she has written a book in October 2009. A TV Show narrating this incident of her life was telecasted, which was viewed by approximately 3.5 billion viewers of 15 countries.
Katie is an inspiration for all the women of this world who have gone through this situation and faced mishappenings including rape, acid attack and many more.
Katie not only surpassed her depression but also got involved in the mainstream of society.
